There’s a new page of Catnip Circle today! WOW 14 PAGES ALREADY~
Tetanus never looked cuter.
Chester page, actual size: a little under 6 inches wide.
I work stupid small! I actually used to work smaller, the early Chester pages from the first half of the book are about 5.5 inches tall. My Smut Peddler comic was 8x12, the biggest I’ve worked. I just feel more comfortable drawing tiny things, space is scary. Drawing all these little details is getting a bit intense though, I may experiment with working bigger for future projects.
Aaaaa such gorgeous detailed work is so small! I’m in such awe of Jess Fink!
Obviously I am going to have pizza on the brain from working in a pizza shop all week. I present to you, the Pizza Princess. If Pizza Princess doesn’t already exist in the Land of Ooo, I don’t have faith in humanity anymore.
I am working on some more pizza people as well. I will show you guys soon.
Assassin Princess (one of many).
Adventure time fan art for a 30 day tumblr project.
I found a 30 day challenge to draw 30 different Adventure Time prince/princesses. I don’t know if I will get to all of them but I will certainly refer to the list for ideas and create my own.
Behold the Whiskey (Sour) Princess. Most artists have been portraying whiskey as a prince, but god dammit, whiskey is very much a ladies drink as well—The kind of ladies the shoot guns and also like riding bikes. (This may call for a redraw on my part…) Anyway, you should also check out James’ assassin princess. It is pretty damn epic.

365 Day Photo Project — Day 152, May 30th 2012. Manhattanhenge. It’s the day when the sun sets perfectly down the streets of Midtown Manhattan. After working in New York for a month, I started hearing word of it, but I head no idea when it was. Well, it was today. After a rainout yesterday, we weren’t sure we’d have any chance to see it at all. We were right. Sort of.
The classic place to see Manhattanhenge is Tudor City, overlooking 42nd Street. You may remember this as the place they filmed a recent Doctor Who episode, which I photographed a few months ago. Today, I spend 3 hours with about 40 strangers, from China, Canada, India, and locals from The Bronx and Brooklyn. We squatted in our spot at the center of the bridge, waiting.
Well, as the sky cleared up, it wasn’t completely free from clouds. One of which blocked the entire sun. But it wasn’t an entire loss. The spectacle of people trying to cheat their way to a great shot of the New York event was quite something. The subject in this shot was the less daring of the people we saw. This was also the emptiest we saw the streets of pedestrians all evening. One group even stole traffic cones, and placed them in the middle of the road, so they could stand in the center of the rode. Until the police arrived. Others walked up the pedestrian-free Park Ave overpass, while others ran into the street each time the crosswalk signs turned on.
It was a great event, and another great evening of photography enjoyed with strangers in New York. It added to the memorable-ness of my birthday week. It’s my champaign birthday, meaning I’m turning 31 on the 31st. My cousin swears I have to make it memorable, so my entire week has magically filled up with exciting events and outings with great people!
For those of you who would like to see this event, it occurs again in July. You’ll be sure to see me there.

Say what you will about ewoks —- no go ahead, I’ll wait… But Zack Giallongo would make make the greatest comics this side of Endor’s forest moon.
Hey Dark Horse! Let me draw an EWOKS comic for you!
It would totally be a 6-issue mini series taking place right before Jedi. The Empire has landed and the Ewoks are trying to figure out what’s going on, especially after the Empire takes out most of their rivals, the aggressive Duloks. The Ewoks have been protecting their territory with guerilla tactics, fading back into the shadows after silently picking off Stormtroopers one by one. Wicket is impetuous and his friends Teebo and Paploo are rising in the ranks to be promising warriors, leaving him behind. But things change when Wicket brings a stranger into Bright Tree Village, the beautiful princess Leia.
I’ve always loved the Ewoks, and I don’t care who knows it. The lineup here includes Ewoks from Return of the Jedi, the cartoon series, and the two TV movies. On some of the characters, I sort of split the difference between their various incarnations. In doing a bit of research (Thanks, Wookiepedia) I was actually surprised how much continuity there is amongst the Ewoks and their appearances in all the books, toys, comics, etc.
So Fanime was absolutely bonkers. I’m totally blown away. Thank you to everyone who visited my table; it was especially spectacular meeting so many Sherlock fans and getting a chance to share my weird obsessions. You are all amazing <3
To celebrate the release of Wreck and finally crossing this big deadline that’s been looming over me, I wanna do a short giveaway! I haven’t done this before so please forgive me if I do something super wrong @w@;;
Please read all the details under the cut!
Foster the People in Central Park, a set on Flickr.
365 Day Photo Project — Day 151, May 29th 2012. Today was so hot, but I went to the park anyway. I had listened to the interview with photographer Morten Krogvold talk about what photography was to him. He spoke of how photography was not about entertainment, but sorrow. He said that things that try to entertain often end up feeling cheap, while sorrow stays with you. I don’t think he meant that photos should make you sad, but that it’s about something deeper down, more of a truth. At least, it is for me.
I’ve been thinking about what my style reveals about myself. Looking at this shot, it’s honestly a little eerie, because I so often get people’s backs, as opposed to seeing them from the front. I think I know the reasons for this, although I won’t get into them now. However, after listening to Mr. Krovold’s interview, I knew I had to go out photographing today, no matter how tired I was. Well, I ended up staying for 3 hours today, nearly double my usual amount, because as I was leaving, I heard The Kooks playing! They are one of my favourite bands of the past 5 years. What luck that they should be here! While I couldn’t get in, the sound was nearly perfect from outside the stage, so I joined the countless others without tickets, sitting on the lawns, rocks and blanks upon the ground. Sadly I didn’t grab this spot until they finished playing, but I did manage to snap shots of Foster the People, who they had opened for. I love this band, too! What luck to encounter!
This shot (The girl in the foreground, with 3 layers to the shot) is my 365 for today, although I posted several to document the event a bit better. Shooting stage lights is always fun, but I tried to make sure that wasn’t the only element to these pictures. Hope you enjoy them half as much as I did taking them. :) Happy Tuesday, everyone!
